Validation of the Korean Version of Yale Fod Adiction Scale for Children(YFAS-C)
Kim Hee-Young

Abstract
Although eating behaviors such as obesity and binge eating are closely related to adolescent fod adiction behaviors, studies on fod adiction among adolescents in Korea have ben very scare. The purpose of this study was to examine the validity of the Korean version of Yale Fod Adiction Scale for Children(YFAS-C). We conducted self-reported survey (YFAS-C, BMI, DEBQ, EAT_26) for 59 elementary and midle schol students in Seoul and Gyongi-do. Test-Retest reliabilty was asesed in 90 students after an average of 3 weks of first survey. As a result of the Item and Exploratory analysis, the 20 items of Korean version YFAS-C were more apropriate than the original 2 items(KR_20=.863), and Confirmatory factor analysis verifed a one-factor structure with an aceptable fit. The Korean version of YFAS-C had god convergent and discriminant validity with like constructs, problematic eating behaviors scales(BMI, DEBQ, EAT_26, BES, BAS/BIS) and incremental validity in predicting BES. The test-retest reliabilty of Korean version of YFAS-C was god, with interclas corelations of 0.787. Findings sugesthathe Korean version of YFAS-C has a god internal consistency reliabilty and satisfactory construct validity to measure fod adiction, and wil be a useful tol for identifying adictive-like eating among adolescents in Korea.
